What is FIRST?

FIRST: For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.

FIRST is a worldwide nonprofit organization that seeks to introduce school-age children to the world of computing, competition, and STEM.

There are 4 programs that run under FIRST, and in total, more than 59,000 teams in over 80 countries participate in these 4 events.

FIRST LEGO League Junior (grades K-3) is a non-competitive community that introduces kids to the basics of building, coopertition, and team spirit using LEGO creations.

FIRST LEGO League (grades 4-8) is an international intermediate/middle school robotics tournament. This competition features LEGO robotics, and more complex engineering and coding.

FIRST Tech Challenge (grades 7-12) is an international middle/high school robotics tournament. This competition features nuanced programming, custom-made robotics, gracious professionalism, and one of the biggest stages that an aspiring engineer could ever dream of. Over 6,000 FTC teams -- 60,000+ participants -- compete in FTC worldwide.

FIRST Robotics Competition (grades 9-12) is an international high school robotics tournament. This competition features high-level programming and industrial-level craftsmanship.

All four FIRST programs are great ways to get into engineering and STEM at a young age. As for Team Powerstackers, FTC is what we do.

Every season, we manufacture a robot from scratch, build and program our own unique methodologies, and compete against hundreds of talented teams.

Last year, our dedication, leadership, and stellar robot brought us to the FTC World Championship, where we placed as finalists. This year we're planning on doing it again.
